Bandit Theater Improv Level 2: Scenework and Game Open for Registration (November 2026)
If you want to get a foundation of game in improv, this is the class for you.
Coming off teaching this class as an intensive in October with Bandit Theater founder and Artistic Director Annie Barry so Iām excited to teach it again!
Bandit Theater, Level 2, Scenework and Game
Delve into the mechanics of Game... together! Through heightened states of agreement, this class will build upon the foundations of Improv 1. In Improv 2 you'll learn how to identify, play, and heighten the unusual pattern of behavior. You'll expand your analytical improv toolbox with framing and justification. Together, we will create more complex scene work, play in more unconventional locations, learn the language of Game-based longform, and delight in the joy of specificity. Open to all students who have completed Improv 1.
In this class you'll:
Learn to identify the first unusual thing after the base reality has been clearly established
Grow your listening skills to advance your scenework
Learn a mechanism to amplify the unusual thing (Peas in a pod, tag outs, time dashes, analogous)
Identify ways to support your scene partner
Additionally, all Bandit Theater improv classes include:
Optional live performance opportunities in The Hot Hot Suggie Show (December 18th) our staff-and-student mashup showcase and Lucky Draw (December 5th), a chance to play with the Bandit Staff.
